Beyond Diversity: LGBTQ+ 101 for Employers

Thank you so much for providing all this helpful information. Although I am part of LGBTQ community, I still learned something new.

Beyond Diversity was honest, to the point, and informative. It was full of personal examples that were helpful in understanding the information and material as a whole. Thank you, Family Equality Council, for producing excellent course material to help us make certain we are able to service all who come through our doors with the greatest of care and respect!

I am a doula by trade and the material covered in this course was highly relevant to my work--AND I also believe that literally anyone, whether you work with families/those building families or not, could benefit from engaging in this course and evaluating their own biases.

As a queer-identified person who is still working on being smooth in her use of others' varied pronouns, this course helped me to become more comfortable with both the ability to do so, as well as the confidence to make it right when I make a mistake.

This was extremely helpful defining LGBTQIA terms and I am going to try to utilize the steps to address my own bias to better serve my patients and be a better community member. It will not let me click the rating, but I would give 5 stars!

I came into this course with a general understanding of the terminology but the course really helped to clarify everything for me. The 4 pillars of identity is a great framework for conceptualizing gender. I will be so much more able to serve LGBTQ families with skill and compassion when I'm not fumbling over the language and bumping up against my own uncertainty. I was actually just thinking the other days that I’d like to review parts of the course. Trystan also does a great job of explaining how we can develop habits around the information to make for smoother communication, and avoid shame spirals and embarrassing apology parades when we make mistakes in our learning process. Thank you so much!

I found this very enlightening. I work in a medical office and it helped me to under the needs of the LGBTQI population.

So helpful for anyone working the trans community on issues surrounding fertility planning or preservation.
